Retro styled JZ4755 player gets it wrong - ugly player alert!!
Well i love retro styled things, if done right they can look really good, but getting it right is a hard thing to do, to make something look retro but also up-to-date is a hard thing to achieve - unfortunately for the Baidu B829 they did not have the skills
Baidu, in the linked article, are sick of being just re-branders, taking a stock design and slapping their name on, so they are committed to creating their own unique designs and yes, i think they should be committed after this atrocity.
This is what they have come up with, now i do not really know if they were going for a retro look or actually think that this is a good design for a media player but either way its awful, early eighties design style does not fit well for a portable media player at all.
