i-Station T9 HD compliments existing line-up

i-Station T9 HD compliments existing line-up

You might recall i-Station’s last revelation, the T4?  Apparently, Digital Cube have added the same another media player to compliment the T4 dubbed the i-Station T9 HD. If you’re hoping for big changes, then think again. The T4 was originally displayed at the German IFA and was expected to debut stateside in January 2010. Ironic? We think so. Perhaps the T4 has been confused with the T9? If you check out Digital Cube’s website, there is no mention of the T4.

Enough of the irony.

The T9 features a 4.3-inch TFT LCD display featuring touchscreen integration - the 480 x 272 resolution is on the low side. A Samsung S3PC100 processor is the device’s workhorse.

If that isn’t mind-blowing, the T9 features an output HDMI port to view your videos on the big screen. The battery is capable of video playback for up to 10 hours or 20 hours worth of audio playback on just a single charge.

The player’s file format support is most impressive. We originally compared the similar T4 to the Archos 605 because of its variety of supported files. Throw a file at it, and the T9 is likely to handle it; one could believe that it has VLC integrated. Not limited to DivX, XviD, H.264, WMV, MKV, MP3, WMA, AAC, OGG, FLAC, APE, WAV, PCM/ADPCM, the device handles it all.

The T9 will come in a choice of four colors - black, white, blue and red. No word on price or availability, but if the T4 is anything to go on, we should expect a January release date.
