Newman, a company that seems to have a serious phobia for touch screens, is yet again releasing a rather nice and thin player. At its thickest point the player is only 9.8mm thick, pretty impressive consider that it has a 5.0″ LTPS screen. I am assuming that this anorexic player will be using the CC1600 chipset, which mean it can handle avi movies upto 1280 x 720 resolution.

Now although this looks like a good player, we’re not going to get it, don’t get me wrong i like CC1600 players, like our Nationite OS-72HR, but Newman has a bad habit of not releasing any firmware updates for their players, which really isn’t going to cut it for us.

The A18HD will is out (or will be soon) in China, no word on pricing or what memory size variations this will come in.
