New Cube H500HDS: Boxchip F16 w/ PDF Reading
Cube have released a new player hot on the heels of their recent entries, the H500FHD and the B33HD. This newest model, the H500HDS, is a 1080p capable player that’s being marketed as being affordable more so than brutally powerful (though 1080p is nothing to scoff at). The H500HDS sports a 5-inch screen and is powered by the Boxchip F16 AKA Sochip SC8600. The SC8600 chip originally was only a 720p capable chip but that boundary seems to have been breached as quite a few players have the SC8600 and are able to playback 1080p video. The standard file formats are supported (eg. MKV, AVI, RM/RMVB, MPG, MP4, VOB etc.). The player also has PDF reading capability - something we’ve seen in SC9800 chips but not so much in SC8600 ones, has OTG support and comes in 4GB flavour.
